Montefiore (TCI Orange Flag and one of the most beautiful villages in Italy) is considered by many to be the medieval capital of the Conca Valley; its imposing fortress, like “a medieval skyscraper seeking the light”, dominates the lands of the Malatesta Seignory and all of Romagna, with unique panoramic views, that on a clear day span from Ravenna to the border with the Marche. Today, Montefiore is a village nestled in the green woods and meadows that surround it and many paths lead from here into the beautiful countryside. The old town centre retains many signs of its ancient history.
